# Leveling Up

Encounters will give you reputation points. Once your reputation points reach a certain threshold, you’ll be able to level up your Rank. Leveling up is at the account/Empire level. Meaning you will only need to level up your account/Empire, not individual troopers. &#x20;

PLEASE NOTE: Each rarity of gear has a different level requirement in order for it to be equipped.&#x20;

Common: Required Level 1 Rank&#x20;

Rare: Required Level 1 Rank&#x20;

Epic: Required Level 5 Rank&#x20;

Legendary: Required Level 10 Rank - You must make it all the way to level 10 for you to be able to equip legendary gears when performing missions or encounters.&#x20;

Important: Rank levels are wiped after every ladder reset!&#x20;
