Outlaw Troopers is an NFT and Virtual item based collecting game on the WAX Blockchain. The most valuable items in the game such as Troopers, Space Stations (Land), and Encounter Passes will be in NFT form. Many of the smaller and faster moving elements will be virtual (aka temporary), and reset each ladder season. The FGL token, which is used across all current + future FGL WAX games, is the main currency in the game.
Send your Troopers into battle via Encounters to earn FGL token. You can also send your Troopers on Missions and earn in-game credits, virtual gears, and virtual ore. Completing Encounters will gain you reputation to rank up on the leaderboard - allowing you to win big prizes. Prizes may include things such as troopers, gears, FGL token, and ships.
Outlaw Troopers requires a WAX Cloud Wallet or an Anchor Wallet account with at least 1 Trooper NFT and at least one Ship (NFT or virtual).
The overreaching, iron-fist of the Galactic Imperium Organization (GIO) has become an absolute nightmare. All trade, exchanges, income, and property from local or distant galaxies must be approved by the GIO. After the corrupt governmental entity takes ‘their share’, basically nothing is leftover for the hard-working space explorers. In order for the small outlying communities to survive, a dedicated group of men and women have vowed to secure resources for themselves and their communities. Some call them heroes and others call them Traitors. But most just call them the Outlaw Troopers. Your mission is to grab some of these troopers and start gathering as many resources as you can. Build your very own Outlaw Trooper Empire today!
- Web browser/mobile browser
- At least one Trooper NFT
- Wax Cloud Wallet or Anchor Wallet
Optional
- FGL Tokens (For playing Encounters, skill upgrades, and leveling). FGL tokens can be purchased on Alcor.
- Cosmic Clash Ship NFTs {For stat boost(s)} or virtual in-game Ships. 1 ship is needed for each trooper.
FGL Token (WAXP blockchain token)
FGL tokens will be required for entry fee for encounters, rerolling Trooper skill traits, minting NFTs, and possible future uses in seasonal expansions.
Credits (Virtual, non-blockchain in-game currency)
Credits are the main currency when performing missions in Outlaw Troopers. It cannot be swapped/exchanged. It is non-withdrawable.
Currencies that are pegged to any real life value tend to never be spent in the game environment. Therefore Outlaw Troopers has decided to disallow swapping and exchanging credits for any outside cryptocurrency. For those who prefer owning or exchanging more tradable assets, both FGL token and wax blockchain NFTs will be part of the game as well.
You can use in-game credits to purchase gears on the virtual marketplace. You can also acquire Ocurium (another in-game resource) which is used to upgrade your existing gears into the next rarity tier. You can also buy temporary ships and a host of other virtual items in the game store.
Most of the time, ladder rankings will be sorted according to the amount of reputation one has earned during a season/ladder from winning encounters.
Important: ALL Credits will be wiped after a ladder ends!
Encounter Entry Fee
Main FGL token use comes from paying an entry fee for an encounter.
In order to rank well on the leaderboard, players are recommended to try and complete higher tier (harder) encounters.
Leveling Up
Players will level up their empire by playing encounters. As you play more and more you will gain more and more reputation. Leveling will be largely used for gear limitations and for leaderboard rankings. (Certain encounters will require certain reputation levels in order to play).
Empire Skill Trait(s)
Your Empire can have random traits that make it more efficient. The skill traits are random. You have the option of rerolling to bring in new skill traits.
Rank and traits are wiped after each season, meaning players will have to repeat the process of rerolling in order to stay competitive and find an optimal build.
Virtual Economy
The main game ladder will reset every month, all virtual items and Credits will be wiped, and players will start fresh and compete in a new economy. All NFTs such as Troopers, Space Stations, Encounter Passes, and gears will remain intact.
Reason for reset: Lowers the entry point for new players. A game completely dominated by the oldest players or deepest wallets usually does not last very long as most new players do not enjoy the experience.
1. Compete for top leaderboard prizes
Requires some FGL token investment. High risk, high reward.
In order to compete for top prizes, you should try to max level your rank, get a strong combination of traits and try to push the encounter with the highest difficulty for max rewards. Why would this be a good route to go? Players who finish high up in the standings will receive rewards for their high placements.
2. Rank as high as possible with low investment
Medium Risk, Medium Reward. Fighting in free encounters and slowly building an FGL balance is one way to build up your wealth. Once you have some extra FGL tokens, try upgrading your rank and roll some traits to help you clear the encounter faster. Slowly improve your leaderboard ranking and try to complete a harder encounter whenever you feel comfortable with the basics of the game.
3. For the fun of gaming
Low risk, low reward. Fighting in free or low cost encounters will provide slow and steady FGL income.
4. Gear Minting
You can use both missions and encounters to find gears, which you can work on collecting enough in order to mint an NFT version(s). Building up your NFT archive can be one method of play.
5. Robot Minting
Robots will be plentiful so they may not be overly valuable. But they do a lot of slow and steady work and keep your empire humming along. Minting robots to either add to your empire or to sell to others can be an additional strategy.
Every month after a ladder resets, a new system/mechanism will be implemented in order to keep things fresh. There will also be future expansions in the way of new gears, new traits, and other possible expansions to provide players with new and exciting methods of gameplay.
One of the first planned expansions will be adding in the functionality to support multiplayer Events. This way you can choose to play the game as a solo player or with friends. Initial game launch will only have functionality for solo Encounters.
Troopers will receive an additional bonus if they use a Cosmic Clash NFT Ship when they are sent out on a mission or when fighting an encounter (done virtually, non-blockchain merge or assign). Virtual ships inside of Outlaw Troopers are not as powerful.

Troopers are the main unit in the game. You will need 1 trooper for each mission you send out and also 1 trooper for each encounter you attempt. If you want to attempt 1 encounter and send 4 missions at the same time you will need 5 troopers.
There are 3 types of Troopers. Workhorses, Guardians, and Utilities. Workhorse Troopers are very good at missions as they have lots of grunt gears. Guardians are great for fighting encounters as they have tactician gears and power gears which are more used for fighting. Utility Troopers are the jack-of-all-trades type that can be used for anything. As trooper rarity increases a trooper will have more gear slots available.

Wormfoil is a common utility Trooper. Since he is a utility Trooper this means he has at least 1 of each type of gear. There are 3 different gear slots. Wormfoil can hold 1 grunt gear, 1 tactician gear, and 2 power gears.
The green fist icon represents grunt gears. These are mostly used for missions.
Tactician gears are blue with a wrench. These are good for encounters.
Power gears are the red explosion icon. These make your trooper stronger while fighting in a battle.
Outlaw Troopers will be one of a few wax blockchain games to incorporate virtual items and NFTs into the same game. There are a few reasons for this. First, most wax games have very little actual gameplay involved. Most of the time you do 1 or 2 clicks and that is it. Most players slowly cash out all of their tokens and the game collapses within a few months. Outlaw Troopers hopes to build a fun and enjoyable game that can be played with a very small investment. If you enjoy the excitement of collecting, trading, buying, and selling NFTs, that part of the wax blockchain will also be available.
NFTS will give players complete ownership over some parts of the game. The most valuable items such as Troopers, Space Stations, and epic/legendary gears will be available in NFT form. Players will 100% own these assets and will be able to with them whatever they please. The goal is to keep the scarcity relatively high on these items while also keeping the use case high. That way they will hopefully retain value long after the game has launched.
Virtual items are exactly what they sound like. They are temporary and reset after each ladder season. Virtual items will be in-game items such as ships, gears, credits, encounter keys, etc. These items will be lower in value and will remain in the context of the game. There will be an in-game market where you can still buy and sell these items. They will however not be in NFT form.
One way Outlaw Troopers will be giving virtual items increased value is by allowing virtual items to be crafted (aka, minted) into an NFT. The only item(s) that can be transformed from a virtual item to an NFT are gears. If you collect enough virtual gears of the same kind during a single season (before the end of season wipe) and combine them into a legendary gear, you can turn in this legendary virtual gear to create one newly minted NFT gear.
Minting a gear NFT will require 2 things. First, you will need the equivalent of one legendary virtual gear. Second, you will need 1,000 FGL. If you pay 1k FGL and the legendary virtual gear, you will receive a gear NFT in return. This gear has a 85% chance of being an epic gear and a 15% chance of being a legendary gear.
Why would you want to trade in a legendary gear for an epic you ask? Remember, the virtual gears will all be wiped at the end of the season. If you create an NFT it will be yours to own forever (or sell/trade!).
Minting Fee: 1000 FGL + 1 legendary virtual gear = 1 gear NFT (85% epic, 15% legendary)
Virtual Gear Rarity Upgrades: 1:10 of the same rarity to upgrade to the next tier. Example: 10 common gears will be required to upgrade to 1 rare gear. Likewise, 10 rare gears will be required to upgrade to 1 epic gear. 1000 of the same common gear will be required to get to 1 legendary gear.
Upgrade costs
Common to rare cost: 100k ocurium Rare to Epic cost: 2 million Ocurium
Epic to Legendary cost: 10 million Ocurium
Troopers cannot travel through space without a ship! A ship will be required for your trooper to go out on missions and encounters. Virtual ships can be purchased in-game using credits. At the start of each season every player will start with 1 virtual ship in their inventory. If you want bigger, better, and more powerful ships you will want to purchase a Cosmic Clash NFT ship. At this point in time, Outlaw Troopers will not be selling or producing any official NFT ships. All ships will either be virtual from Outlaw Troopers or NFT form from Cosmic Clash.
Please note: See Cosmic Clash NFT Integration for important details on the bonuses that Cosmic Clash ships provide while in game.
Players can purchase as many virtual ships in game as they desire. However, please note that all virtual ships are wiped at the end of the season. You will only receive 1 virtual ship at the start of each season. If you want permanent ships you will need to purchase Cosmic Clash ships.
There are a total of 4 different missions you can assign your trooper to:
1. Heist missions - Reward: gives credits
2. Hijacking mission - Reward: gives Ocurium (virtual currency inside of Outlaw Troopers)
3. Salvaging mission - Reward: gives gears, which can be used to make your Troopers and Ships better
4. Hacking mission - Gives Encounter Access Key(s) (note, these are virtual keys only, not NFTs)
Cost:
1. Heist mission- Free!!
2. Hijacking mission- Free!!
3. Salvaging mission- Costs Ocurium (missions with more valuable rewards cost more)
4. Hacking mission- Costs Credits (missions with more valuable rewards cost more)
When you send out a trooper on a mission you will send out 1 trooper at a time. Each trooper will also need one ship (either NFT or virtual). You can send out as many troopers as you want/own. Once you send them out, they will be performing this task forever. That is either until you call them off or until they run out of resources. If a trooper is out on a mission it cannot also be used on an encounter. You will need to call a trooper back from a mission in order to use it on an encounter.
Rewards are technically collected every single second that a trooper is out on a mission. This does not mean you will win rewards every single second as the odds per second are quite low. Costs are deducted every single second as well. Heist and Hijacking missions will always be free. The main use case of Ocurium is that you need it for salvaging missions. Heist missions provide you with credits which are useful for buying things in the virtual store. You will also need credits to do hacking missions. Hacking missions will reward you with encounter keys.
Encounter System
Encounters are real-time combat based instances. All encounters will be single player solo encounters. (Multi-player encounters will not be available, but multiplayer events will be added in a future expansion. Events and Encounters will be separate things.)
But what exactly IS an Encounter? For those who have played in the Cosmic Clash Community Event, it will be very similar to that, except single player. You will fight waves of AI troops on a small RTS style battlefield. If you are able to defeat all enemies, bosses, objectives, etc then you will win the applicable rewards. If you lose, you will gain knowledge for the next time. These modes will be changing over time. No single encounter will remain the same forever. Each level will be different from every other level.
Encounter Access Key(s) as well as FGL tokens are required to start an encounter. Encounter Access Key(s) can be obtained from Hacking Missions.
Player(s) will have 1 chance to win once entering the encounter. If you are defeated, you lose immediately. Credits, ocurium, reputation, and gear loot harvested up until this point will be kept by the player. FGL Tokens will be given out as reward for clearing an encounter. The better you perform on an encounter the more FGL you will receive.
Certain Tiers will require either a minimum or maximum level of gears, Empire Reputation Level, or Encounter keys.
Encounters come in different tier/difficulty levels. Each tier has a different cost and also gives out different levels of rewards:

Important: If you fail an encounter, you will receive the FGL that you earned up until that point in time. However, your reward might be less than the entry cost if you did not win the encounter!
Important note:
The encounter economy is based on an automated system which, when the reward pool is low (aka too many players are earning and too less are spending), then the FGL token nodes will be lesser, but chances of other nodes will increase.
This was tested in alpha and inherited from the community website war points reward pool system. This system is crucial for the economy to work, otherwise we are just risking to bankrupt ourselves and have the FGL token price take the hit.
There will always be at least 1 FGL nodes on each level.
All encounters will give you reputation points. Once your reputation points reach a certain threshold, you’ll be able to level up your Rank. Leveling up is at the account/Empire level. Meaning you will only need to level up your account/Empire, not individual troopers.
PLEASE NOTE: Each rarity of gear has a different level requirement in order for it to be equipped.
Common: Required Level 1 Rank
Rare: Required Level 5 Rank
Epic: Required Level 10 Rank
Legendary: Required Level 15 Rank - You must make it all the way to level 15 for you to be able to equip legendary gears when performing missions or encounters.
Important: Rank levels are wiped after every ladder reset!
Your Empire can have random traits that make it more efficient (or inefficient!). The skill traits are random. You have the option of rerolling to bring in new skill traits. On game launch there will only be 10 different skill traits, but they come in 6 different rarities. Worst, bad, common, rare, epic, and legendary. Worst and bad are of the negative variety. What this means is that if you have either of the two lowest levels of traits you will likely want to reroll these in order to acquire better traits. You have the option of using credits or FGL to reroll your traits. The FGL is a flat fee each time, but the credit reroll cost gets more expensive each time. Choose wisely!
Rank and traits are wiped after each season, meaning players will have to repeat the process of rerolling in order to stay competitive and find an optimal build.
Note: Rerolling can result in worst traits than you had before
Important: All traits are removed/reset after a season/ladder ends!

Gears are upgrades that can be applied to your ships. They are items that are sellable, tradable, and can be bought. They can be bought, sold, or exchanged on the marketplace using Credits. Gears can either be virtual or NFTs. All virtual gears will be wiped after the ladder ends. Each gear has a specific slot (grunt gear, tactician gear, or power gear) and it will only fit in one slot. Different Troopers have different slots available. Tactician and Power gear slots will give strong bonuses in Encounters. Grunt gear slots ONLY provide bonuses in Missions.
Virtual gears will be available in common, rare, epic, and legendary rarities. Common rarities will be the most common and will be the weakest. Each level up will substantially increase the ability of the gear. All rarities of gears will have use cases though. The lowest level encounters will have restrictions that prevent high rarity gears from being used. Also, if you have lots of troopers you will want lots of gears.
NFT Gears will only be in epic or legendary rarities. NFT gears are permanent and cannot and will not be wiped at the end of the season. NFT gears will be highly valuable as you will have ownership over these assets. They will also be very strong since they will all be either epic or legendary.
See gear descriptions in the Appendix for more information.
AI Underlings (otherwise known as Robots) are a low skilled, high availability type unit. These are intended to either help round out your empire or to provide an easier and more attainable entry point for new players.
Robots can be produced in game! Below are the details on how to produce your very own army of Robots.
Robot parts
- Collect 100 parts, pay 50 FGL to exchange for a Robot Voucher (Gives 1 robot)
- Collect 450 parts, pay 225 FGL to exchange for a Robot+ Voucher (Gives 5 robots)
- Collect 800 parts, pay 400 FGL to exchange for a Robot++ Voucher (Gives 10 robots)
Specific details about Robots:
- Robots can run all missions like troopers, but at a significantly slower rate. 10% efficiency rate compare to a trooper
- Robots cannot perform jobs
- Robot can find keys and gears
- Robots can do encounters, participate in seasonal and weekly leaderboards, but they will not find any FGL token rewards.
- Robots cannot equip gears.
Please note: This will make robots very weak at encounters!
- Robots do not receive reward bonus from empire traits
- Robots do not receive reward bonus and stat bonus from ships
Jobs are a bit of a unique opportunity. Jobs can only be performed by Troopers. Some jobs allow you to equip additional gears you might own, in order to make your troopers more effective while on the job. The main difference between missions and jobs are that missions produce things that troopers need (credits, ocurium, gears, keys). Jobs produce things only relating to Robots/AI Underlings. However, robots/AI Underlings cannot produce more robots. If you want to produce robots, you will need troopers.
There are 2 options for Jobs:
Job Option 1 – Manufacturing - Assign your troopers to go work in the manufacturing plants. Over time they will produce robot parts, which can be assembled to produce a full robot. Once you have the parts for a full robot you can mint one (NFT form!).
- Use grunt gears to produce robot parts
- Cost 50 base credits per second
- Cost 20 base ocurium per second
- Cost of all jobs increase per ongoing job (slow increase is added to limit people from stacking 1000’s of robots)
- Jobs only receive reward bonus according to gear rarity: 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%
Job Option 2 – Plundering – Assign troopers to go out on plundering and raiding parties to search for robot parts (equip these troopers with tactician or power gears to improve their finding rates!)
Use power/tactician gears to produce robot parts
- Cost 20 base credits per second
- Cost 50 base ocurium per second
- Cost of all jobs increase per ongoing job (slow increase is added to limit people from stacking 1000’s of robots)
- Jobs only receive reward bonus according to gear rarity: 25%, 50%, 75%, 100%
Note: Empire traits and gear bonuses that impact missions do not have any bonus impact on jobs
Qwitt is the name of the main AI underling. There will be certain collaboration efforts where Outlaw Troopers will utilize Qwitt to allow new players to easily join the OT ecosystem. We will create NFTs that are a ‘box of pieces’. If you collect 5 of these boxes of pieces you then can turn those 5 NFTs into a blend to produce one Qwitt NFT. These puzzle pieces combined with a blend will involve a small wax fee in order for the player to mint their Qwitt NFT.
Ladders/seasons will last roughly one month, but the exact start/end times will vary from season to season.
When a ladder ends, rewards are given out based on the player's performance from Encounters. The more you play (and win) the higher you will likely be on the leaderboard. After rewards are given, all players' progressions/levels, gears, ships, and upgrades are wiped. Players will of course retain all of their NFTs.
A new ladder will start shortly after the previous ladder ends. Every player starts at level 1 and with an empty inventory, except for all NFT items. 1000 credits will be given at the start of the next season, enough to buy 1 virtual ship.
Ladder prizes may include (but are not limited to): Trooper NFTs of all rarities, NFT gears, FGL tokens, and blend tickets. Amount of prizes will vary every month and will scale based on two criteria: 1 - total number of active players and 2 - total amount of FGL spent in-game. All NFT prizes are newly minted which adds to the circulating supply.
Space Stations are the most valuable item in the game. Only 50 will ever be minted and they will all be in NFT form. They will produce daily income for the owner as long as you own the NFT. Space stations will bring in two different forms of rewards.
1 - A share of the total FGL inflow from the game each day (payouts in FGL).
Space Station owners will be able to claim their FGL daily
50% of the daily FGL profits from Outlaw Troopers will be split between the space station owners
2 – 10% discount minting fee of gear NFTS if you have enough to upgrade virtual gears to NFT gears.
The more income the game brings in the more stations will make during that day. In order to take advantage of the NFT minting discount a Space Station owner will need to play the game a decent bit during a month in order to save enough virtual gears to perform a NFT mint. See minting NFTs for more info.
Station allotment % of total daily FGL inflow
Rare - 85%
Epic - 100%
Legendary - 115%
The higher the rarity of land the more FGL income it will produce!
There are 4 FGL avatars which provide small boosts in every FGL game. The four avatars are:
power buff, scientist, harvester, and protection. These avatars also provide small boosts in Outlaw Troopers!
The following are the stat boosts:
powerbuff: 5% increased reward in heist
protection: 5% increased reward in hijacking
harvester: 5% increased reward in salvaging
scientist: 5% increased reward in hacking
Note: all stat boosts are only for missions

Most gears in the game will be of the virtual variety. Virtual gears will be wiped at the end of each season to allow new players to compete on a more level playing field. However, epic and legendary level gears will be sold in packs. These gears can be used in the game, even at the start of a new season! Each gear pack contains 3 gears. Rarities are either Epic or Legendary.

Space stations are the most valuable items in the game. All space stations will be NFTs. There will never be additional stations minted. 50 total station packs will be minted. They will each contain 1 station. 45 will be minted as packs for sale. 5 are reserved for the original land owners of the CW Verse game mode.
Space stations will only be 3 rarities. Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Pack rarity breakdowns are as follows:

Encounter Key packs contain one (1) Encounter Pass. This can be used once per calendar day as long as you own the NFT. It will reward you with one encounter key each day, and when you use this key, you will get a 10% discount off of the encounter fee. There are no rarity differences - all encounter passes are of epic rarity.
There’ll only be one pack sale for Outlaw Troopers! Having only a one-time pregame launch pack sale will help to keep scarcity at a reasonable level. No more space station packs or Encounter passes will ever be sold after the initial pack drop. FGL/Outlaw Troopers may need to sell additional Troopers in the future to meet demand. FGL/Outlaw Troopers may produce more Trooper Promo Packs if there is need. However, keeping the trooper count scarce is the main goal to retain value. Number of circulating Troopers will largely only be increased via seasonal ladder prizes.

Gears: 3 Grunt Gears
Description: C7-TKZ has recently escaped the tyrannical region of Floerian. No one is quite sure what he actually looks like behind his helmet, but all signs point to a human like existence. His mission is simple; gather as many people as possible who are willing to help fight to bring freedom back to everyone on his planet.

Gears: 4 Tactician Gears, 4 Power Gears
Description: One third bird, one third ghost, and one third cowboy, Phantom is impossible to predict. Gears: 6 Tactician Gear, 6 Power Gears
Description: No one is sure what this creature is exactly, but other outlaws call him Starfall. Starfall never makes a sound – only points. To the best of anyone’s knowledge, Starfall has never lost a battle. Origins, age, and motives are unknown. Starfall seems to have what can only be described as some sort of magical powers.
Legendary Utility
Name: Fireshot
Gears: 5 Grunt Gears, 5 Tactician Gears, 5 Power Gears
